Without even realizing it, we've created a very sea-themed world for Lasse at home. His bedroom is painted a light seafoam green hue (very 80s, I know), a wooden seagull hangs from the ceiling, and much of his clothing is patterend with boats and fish and anchors. A future sailor? Maybe.
But then again, the reason for much of this probably stems from where his pappa grew up- on Vågsøy, a small island on the very most western part of the country. Vågsøy is spotted with all sorts of nautical and oceanesque industry with everything from ship building and repair to fish processing for the hungry Japanese, Portuguese, and local markets.
But my favorite part of visiting (other than that white sand beach on a sunny day), are the tiny docks. A complete photo-taking mecca! This one smells of seaweed, crab shells, motor oil, and salt. A future playground for Lasse???
