Although there have been clear signs of fall for weeks already, the first official day of autumn has just passed us by. It was on Wednesday. You forgot it too, didn’t you…
If you can look past the rain, rain, and rain, fall is a really beautiful time of year here on the west coast. The leaves are at their golden, burnt orange, and auburn peakiest, the sheep are at their woolliest, and the smell of burning birch, alder, and fir can finally be smelled as you walk past neighbor’s homes. (At their smelliest???)
It’s hard to not notice one other, very evident, sign of fall- the dwindling hours of sunlight. With each passing week, we’re loosing an entire half hour of sunlight. It seems as though it were only yesterday that you could look out the window at midnight and see the yard as clear as day. Alas, summer is over and winter is not long ahead.
A short glimpse of this past summer, before it’s really time to dive into all things chilly, dark, and winter like…
We'll make sure you get a few more hours of daylight while you're here!
